JOB TITLE: Employee Dining Room Attendant
REPORTS TO: Employee Dining Room Supervisor
SUPERVISES: n/a
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
Prepare and maintain the quality and quantity of food in the employee dining room as well as cleanliness and sanitation of room in a manner that embraces, supports, and implements the hotel shared values of acquisition, execution and profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
- Prepares all foods for use in employee cafeteria
- Maintains the quantity of food.
- Maintains quality of food by monitoring temperatures, covers, and rotation of food to comply with health department regulations.
- Ensures adequate quantity of silverware and dishes are available throughout day.
- Transports soiled service ware to kitchen and back to cafeteria after cleaned.
- Completes storeroom requisition according to hotel policy.
- Checks and controls the proper storage of product.
- Ensures all equipment in cafeteria is clean and in proper working condition.
- Properly punches in/out according to schedule.
- Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning product as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards.
- Keeps floors dry and clean to avoid slip/fall accidents.
- Performs other duties as requested, such as, moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Physical activities include walking, talking, hearing, seeing, reaching, bending, handling, fingering, and feeling. Frequent lifting and or carrying of objects or material weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Lifting objects weighing 50 pounds with the ability to push, pull, or transport material weighing 600 pounds through crowded area. Carrying objects weighing 50 pounds for short distances. Walking and standing for a significant period of work shift is required. Physical activates include lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, stretching, grasping and holding.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
- Knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment, i.e., stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles, etc.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes.
- Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to complete requisitions read recipes and communicates with other employees.
- Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.
- Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 200 lbs.
- Ability to stand and work continuously in confined spaces.
- Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High school education preferred, G.E.D. accepted. diploma preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Previous cooking experience preferred. Prior hospitality experience preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificates.
SALARY: $25.00 - $28.12 PER HOUR
