Role Overview

The Demi Pastry Chef is responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of pastry and dessert items according to established recipes and quality standards. The role supports the Pastry Chef in daily operations, ensuring consistency, creativity, and high standards of hygiene and organization within the pastry section.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assisting in the preparation and production of desserts, pastries, baked goods, and other pastry items according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensuring all pastry items meet quality, taste, and presentation standards.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the pastry section and assigned workstations.
  • Assisting with inventory control, monitoring stock levels, and reporting shortages to senior kitchen staff.
  • Following all health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Working efficiently and collaboratively to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
  • Proper organization and storage of raw materials and finished products according to food safety guidelines.


Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar pastry position, preferably within hospitality or the luxury industry.
  • Degree or Diploma in Pastry Arts / Culinary Arts.
  • Knowledge of the English language.
