Caledonian is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef to join our friendly kitchen team at our Caledonian Island hotel located in the Isle of Wight. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about food and looking to develop their career in the hospitality industry within a supportive, professional and well-established business.

As a Commis Chef, you will play an important role in supporting the kitchen brigade to deliver high-quality dishes and excellent dining experiences for our guests. You will gain hands-on experience across kitchen sections while developing your skills and knowledge in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the preparation and production of food items in line with agreed standards.

• Working collaboratively as part of the wider kitchen and restaurant team.

• Ensuring all food is prepared and presented to a high standard and within required timeframes.

• Having a good understanding of the daily menu and your responsibilities within it.

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area, including correct storage of ingredients and equipment.

• Adhering to food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards at all times.

• Complying with hotel policies, procedures and health & safety regulations.
