Job Description

Mō te tūranga | About the opportunity

Our Shores Kitchen cafe is a central hub of our Bethlehem Shores community, well-loved by residents and visitors alike. As Cafe Manager/Chef you play a vital role in the wellbeing of our community through quality food service and great customer care (and excellent coffee!)

You'll be responsible for the overall smooth and efficient running of the cafe including supply and budget requirements, team management (including roster coordination), compliance with our Food Control Plan, and collaboration with other members of the wider team to deliver a first-class experience.

The role offers a lot of variety through menu planning, interaction with great people, and the opportunity to cater for in-house events.

Qualifications

To tatou kaitono pai | What you bring

  • Current NZ Food Safety Certificate
  • Level 5 Quals 
  • Current Sale of Liquor License Control Qualification.
  • Proficient level of computer skills (Word, Excel, POS)
  • Experience in working around a kitchen or similar relevant experience
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to cope with medium to heavy physical demands including walking, standing, crouching, bending, lifting, reaching and repetitive movements
  • Organisational, time management and problem-solving ability
  • Empathy towards older people, good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Honesty and integrity
