As an Assistant Sales Manager, you will support the execution of the hotel’s commercial strategy by generating new business, managing key accounts, and maximizing revenue opportunities across corporate, group, and travel trade segments. You will work closely with the sales leadership and hotel operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of contracted business while upholding IHG brand standards and True Hospitality values.
Your Day-to-Day Financial & Commercial Performance
- Support achievement of hotel revenue, room night, and sales targets.
- Monitor competitor activity and contribute to market intelligence and sales strategy discussions.
- Sell all facets of the hotel to optimize revenue opportunities across segments.
- Grow existing accounts and actively pursue new business leads.
- Support preparation and management of the Sales & Marketing budget.
- Maintain control of sales collateral and brand materials.
Sales & People Responsibilities
- Manage assigned key accounts and maintain accurate account history.
- Conduct regular sales calls, client meetings, and networking activities.
- Travel locally or regionally as required to promote the hotel and develop new business.
- Maintain strong coordination with IHG regional sales and reservations teams.
- Liaise with hotel operations to ensure timely fulfillment of client and guest requirements.
- Work with department heads to support appropriate staffing based on forecasted business.
Guest Experience & Brand Execution
- Promote IHG One Rewards, hotel services, and local area information to enhance guest experience.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agents, tour operators, and business partners.
- Coordinate group bookings, site inspections, and contracted business execution.
- Ensure Holiday Inn Express brand behaviours are consistently followed in all interactions.
- Build hotel visibility in the local market through industry events and networking.
- Support liaison with advertising agencies and marketing partners when required.
Responsible Business
- Support sustainable and responsible business initiatives of the hotel.
- Represent the hotel professionally in the local business and hospitality community.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales efficiency, client engagement, and revenue generation.
What We Need From You
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field.
- 3–4 years’ experience in hotel sales and marketing or a related hospitality environment.
- Strong understanding of corporate, group, and travel trade sales segments.
- Knowledge of local market dynamics and business generators.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Fluency in English and local language(s); additional languages preferred.
